Janet Karvonen-Montgomery
Janet Karvonen-Montgomery, a recent Master of Divinity graduate, is the 2015-16 recipient of the Luther Seminary Graduate Preaching Fellowship. Through global travel experiences, the fellowship is geared to more fully inform one’s proclamation of the Gospel. The fellowship is funded by the generous support of an anonymous donor.

Janet has been a sports pioneer in the state of Minnesota, named the top high school basketball player in the country. Prior to her call to ministry, she has been a sports broadcaster, summer camp director (KMB), and a national public speaker. Janet is a mother of four; she enjoys Nordic walking, biking, cross-country skiing, and road trips with her husband, Al. 


Sarah Browne
Sarah Browne is a freelance producer, photographer, director of photography and writer based in Los Angeles.  She has been working in television, film and as a still photographer for more than 15 years. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Saint Benedict and began Masters work at the Brooks Institute of Photography. Her work and online presence has caught the attention of corporate clients throughout the country – Browne shoots and produces corporate films for clients such as People, Mercedes Benz, BMW, The Hazel Brown Collection, Sorbent Systems, and the W Hotel.  She has also worked on several documentary films as both producer and photographer.  Presently, Sarah is writing two feature films and is also in the pre-production phase of two documentary feature films. Her current projects touch on issues of justice: women in global ministry and those fleeing persecution throughout the world. 

Sarah enjoys cross country skiing, Nordic walking, knitting, cooking and a good round of golf!
